Laurels Centre for Global Education celebrates International French Teachers Day in style online

To commemorate the International French Teachers Day, the Laurels Centre for Global Education organised an online symposium on 27 November.

Carl Woznizcka, from the French Embassy, Bahrain, represented Campus France and explained the opportunities that higher education offers in France.

Abirami Canniappan conducted a session for teachers and parents, providing guidelines on interesting activities that could be practised at school and at home to help children learn beyond the classroom. Students, teachers and parents of French language learners attended the webinar.

Talking through a video message to the audience, the Ambassador of France to Bahrain, HE Jerome Cauchard, stated: “I am delighted to be with you on the International French Teachers Day.

And I salute this initiative … for inviting Campus France.

It will bring you a different perspective on the opportunities that higher education offers in France ... and the French language, let me remind it, is very useful in business.

It is an extra asset.”

“There are a lot of students learning French as their opted language part of their school curricula even though they are coming from various linguistic backgrounds.

We understand the requirement of assistance to such students and guidance to their parents. Laurels are rolling out several Language assistance programs for students and parents.”

The Director and CEO of Laurels Centre for Global Education, Abdul Jaleel Abdulla commented.

Towards the end, the winners of the video contest were announced, and their videos were played for the audience.

Michelle Prince, from The New Indian School, Daryl Shyju and Ahan Prabhu, from Bahrain Indian School, were announced as winners of the contest.

Based on the number of responses on the Instagram page, Shaurya Giri of Bahrain Indian School was awarded a prize under a special category.

The winners and all the participants were congratulated for their impressive presentations and their teachers were appreciated for their good work.

To keep the students motivated to learn the language, the language department of the institute has announced various short language courses for the winter break – French-a-song, French for juniors, DELF preparation, to name a few.

The institute also extends its invitation to join their French Club and other interesting activities.
