Sports Cardiology Conference begins in Bahrain

A top Sports Cardiology Conference kicked off in Bahrain yesterday and for the first time in the region. The Ministry of Health and Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre, in cooperation with SCYS, is organising the conference, which continues until tomorrow.

The opening ceremony, under the patronage of Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, had the presence of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.

HH Shaikh Nasser stressed that the conference reflects the health care efforts enjoyed by citizens and residents of Bahrain- the key pillar of the comprehensive development process in the Kingdom.

HH Shaikh Nasser praised the interest and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his keenness to follow up the healthcare to all citizens and residents.

HH Shaikh Nasser underlined the importance of the conference in tackling issues related to practising sports the right way and maintaining cardiac health to prevent any complications.

Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh expressed thanks and appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for patronising the conference.
