ICRF’s eighth medical camp for workers held

As part of the year-long Mega Medical Camp, the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) has organised its eighth camp at the Kims Health Medical Centre in Askar.
Blood tests were conducted for around 175 workers followed by medical checkups and consultations by Dr Muhammed Zubair and Dr Taimoor Asif.
This is the 8th Mega Medical Camp and as part of this programme, nearly 1,100 workers underwent health screening at various hospitals so far.
Being the week of hygiene awareness, ICRF volunteers briefed workers about the importance of maintaining hygiene at their accommodation.
Ravishankar Shukhla, Second Secretary at the Embassy of India, was the Chief Guest and he interacted with the workers, medical teams and ICRF volunteers.
ICRF General Secretary Pankaj Nallur, Joint Secretary Aneesh Sreedharan, Mega Medical Camp General Convener Nasser Manjeri, Mega Medical Camp Coordinator Muralikrishnan, December month Coordinator Sudheer Thirunilath, ICRF volunteers Ajayakrishnan, Javad Pasha, Sushma Anil, Raman Preet, Siva Kumar, Clifford Correa, Sunil Kumar, Kasi Viswanath, Rajeevan, Spandana, Mani Kuttan, Satheesh Kumar, Syed Haneef, Hari and Kims Health Medical Centre representatives Anaz Basheer, Muhammed Sahal and Ajmal Najeem were leading the camp.
Commemorating 75 years of Indian Independence, the Mega Medical camp was inaugurated by His Excellency in September 2021 at the Middle East Hospital After the medical check-ups, all the workers were provided with lunch packets, multilingual COVID-19 awareness flyers as well as gift hampers.
Aim
The year-long mega medical camp aims to conduct medical check-ups, in association with various hospitals/medical centres to more than 5000 workers.
The medical camps will be held at various medical facilities on alternate Fridays. The screen checks shall be followed by doctor consulting for all and specialist consultancy to the needy workers.
The main sponsor of the Mega Medical camp is Al Namal Group/VKL Group who has agreed to extend help through offering Middle East Hospital for medical checkups as well as to provide lunches to around 2500 workers during the year.
