Saudi Arabia given sovereignty over subscriber data, partnership in cargo centre, among key deals signed

Bahrain had decided to grant Saudi Arabia sovereignty over subscriber data held by Saudi companies in cloud computing centres based in Bahrain.

Bahrain will also allow Saudi Arabia a partnership in the International Sea-Air Cargo Services Centre in Bahrain. Besides, the Kingdom will allow Saudi companies based in Bahrain to apply for operator accreditation and a range of user privileges.

The deals were part of multiple Memorandum of Understandings and agreements signed by Bahraini and Saudi authorities yesterday following talks between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The signing also followed decisions reached during the second Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council meeting. HRH Prince Salman and HRH Prince Mohammed cochaired the meeting. The Bahraini and Saudi sides also signed several MoUs aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation and trade ties.
