The floral pin that Bahrainis wear in December is steeped in significance.
The white Razji flower and the green palm frond pin is Bahraini icon that honours the heroes who have sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation. It commemorates their selfless sense of sacrifice.
In 2015, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued a decree to pay tribute to the Kingdom's fallen heroes annually on December 17.
Bahrainis were keen to mark the special day to honour the national heroes and their children in an appropriate manner.
The Razji pin is worn on December 9-17, coinciding with the Kingdom's National Days on the left side of the chest near the heart.
Royal Decree 16/2016 established the Royal Fund for Fallen Servicemen (RFFS) to provide financial assistance and support to the families of the Kingdom’s fallen service members.
The RFFS is managed by the Supreme Commission for the Royal Fund for Fallen Servicemen, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
