Based on the recommendations of the National Medical Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) has announced an update to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s entry procedures for passengers arriving via Bahrain International Airport.

Starting from Sunday, 19 December, the Red List country system will be replaced with a mandatory PCR certificate, bearing a QR code, administered no more than 48 hours before boarding their inbound flight, for all travellers arriving in Bahrain aged 6 years and above.

PCR testing on the day of arrival, and the fifth and tenth days after arrival, where applicable, is also mandatory for all travellers entering the Kingdom. The CAA noted that these decisions have been taken to preserve public health in light of the global spread of the Omicron variant.
