Royal Guard Special Force Commander Lieutenant-Colonel His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said that marking Commemoration Day on December 17, one day after the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Accession to the Throne, holds a significant indication of the high status of the fallen heroes for HM the King.
This day has become a milestone in Bahrain’s history as it commemorates the sacrifices of the valiant men of the nation who set the most wonderful examples of dedication and loyalty, sacrificed their souls to protect Bahrain and its achievements and defended the security and stability of the peoples of the GCC countries, he said.
“Today is a day of pride, honour and tribute to those who sacrificed their souls to preserve the security of this country and defend religion, rights and the security and stability of the GCC countries,” HH Shaikh Khalid said.
“It is a day in which we remember the heroism of these national models dear to our hearts. We salute their great devotion and sacrifices that we will always recall and share with our children and the next generations, filling their hearts with their memories.
We draw from their memories the meanings of dedication and loyalty to the nation, justice and sincerity. We pray to the Almighty to rest their souls in eternal peace and to grant us and their families fortitude and solace.”
