Focus on plans and sports development projects in Bahrain

First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has discussed with Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa the plans and development projects to be implemented by the General Sports Authority (GSA) to advance the sports sector and move towards professionalism HH Shaikh Khalid, who is GSA chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president, said the projects aim to meet the aspirations to increase the role of sports in serving society and supporting the national economy.

This came as HH Shaikh Khalid received Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa at Al Wadi Palace yesterday.

GSA Deputy Chairman Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and CEO Dr Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar were present.

HH Shaikh Khalid conveyed the wishes of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Shaikh Salman and all the affiliates of the Finance Ministry for further success in carrying out their duties, following the vision of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to achieve the goals of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.

Shaikh Salman expressed deep pride in the role played by HH Shaikh Khalid in developing the sports sector, affirming the ministry’s keenness to implement the vision of the government to support all sector and state departments to ensure a better and more prosperous future for the kingdom, during the prosperous era of HM the King.
