Indian School Bahrain student captures global Math honour

Shanik Hubert, a class XII student at the Indian School Bahrain (ISB), has won Bronze Honour and National Award in the International Youth Math Challenge (IYMC)
The event is a global mathematics competition that enables students from all countries to prove their Math skills and to unleash their creativity.
Shanik, 17, won Bronze Honour for participating in the final round of IYMC 2021.
The final round was a supervised examination that required comprehensive skills in several mathematical areas.
Shanik also won the National Award from Bahrain for being the best participant achieving the nationwide highest score in the final round of IYMC.
He is the son of Hubert Satheesh Kumar, Environmental Engineer at Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), and Preetha Joseph, lecturer at Bahrain Training Institute (BTI).
Shanik’s brother, Nishad Hubert, is a grade IX student at the Indian School Bahrain.
IYMC is one of the biggest online math competitions for students from all around the world.
Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Hon. Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy congratulated Shanik on his excellent performance in the competition
