Istiklal Rubber Walk in Isa Town undergoes successful renovation and maintenance work

The Municipality of the Southern Region, in cooperation with the Municipal Council, has renovated the floor of the Istiklal Rubber Walkway in Isa Town in accordance with the latest international standards on comfort and safety.

The renovated walkway has a length of one kilometre on an overall area of 4,300 square metres. Some parts also underwent maintenance work.

The development work, in its final stage, included all the facilities of the walkway. It included the intensification of green areas by planting varieties, and the provision of a number of service facilities for its visitors, such as the maintenance of the games area and the installation of new games, as part of the municipality’s plan to upgrade all recreational sites in the area. The final stage of the development work will be completed in cooperation with the Municipal Council.

The Istiklal Rubber Walkway is among the most important facilities that many people visit, especially during the evening walks and weekends.

The municipality is working according to its plan, which comes with the support and guidance of the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning and the Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, to implement all strategic plans aimed at improving the level of public services and utilities.
