Bahrain to employ 65,291 citizens by 2026, launches performance indicators

Bahrain aims to increase the percentage of employed Bahrainis to 25.3% as part of the new Industrial Sector Strategy. The strategy, Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani said, also aims at increasing the overall employment to 65,291 individuals by 2026.
The move is part of implementing three main performance indicators to evaluate the rate of success of the strategy. The second indicator, the minister added, is for evaluating the industrial sector’s contribution to the GDP.
“The aim is to arrive at BD2.544 billion by 2026, or 14.5% contribution.” The third indicator, the minister said, will measure the contribution of the industrial sector to the overall exports.
The strategy aims at increasing the percentage of contribution to overall exports to 80.1%, amounting to BD2.475 billion by 2026.
