Legislative cooperation key to development: HRH Prince Salman

Bahrain’s parliamentary and legislative works could attain more progress by enhancing cooperation with international legislative institutions, said His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. “Strengthening cooperation between The Council of Representatives, The Shura Council, and regional and international legislative institutions will support the national parliamentary process and enhance the Kingdom’s legislative structure,” said the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

His Royal Highness said this during a meeting with the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Duarte Pacheco, at Riffa Palace with the Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of building upon the success of the comprehensive development plan led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and IPU’s efforts to enhance legislative work in support of sustainable development.

For his part, Pacheco thanked His Royal Highness’s commitment to strengthening international legislative cooperation. Pacheco also commended Bahrain’s legislative work and success in this field.

The Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia Abdullah Zainal, the Chairman of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, also attended the meeting.
