HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Honorary President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and his sons led the 40-km Children’s endurance race at the festival of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
Held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, the Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Championship is organised by BREEF from January 6 to 8, in the presence of BREEF President, HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
HH Shaikh Nasser was keen to guide his children HH Shaikha Sheema, HH Shaikh Hamad and HH Shaikh Mohammed during the race, followed by HH Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, with the participation of young jockeys from various local stables.
HH Shaikh Nasser asserted that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s attendance of the race confirms HM’s constant keenness to encourage all Bahraini jockeys, which, he said, will be a catalyst for carrying on efforts to encourage young jockeys and prepare them to take part in equestrian and endurance races.
At the end of the race, HH Shaikh Nasser crowned and honoured his children and other participants.
