Creation of jobs and employment of more citizens part of Bahrain's economic recovery plan

Bahrain is witnessing an increasing growth in various sectors, particularly involving the national workforce.
Labour and Social Development Minister Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan attributed this to the implementation of the government’s economic recovery plan, which is aimed at job creation, accelerating the pace of employment of citizens, and job stability.
This came as Humaidan, who is also Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Board of Directors chairman, met the Secretary-General of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions, Abdul Qader Abdul Karim Al Shehabi, in his office yesterday.
He noted that the most important ground on which the plan is based requires strengthening cooperation and coordination with various relevant authorities to achieve the common national goals that the government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, aspires to.
During the meeting, they discussed the economic recovery plan, the launch of the initiatives of the various sectors, particularly the industrial sector; and the investment of the sector’s advancement plan to employ more citizens in this promising sector.
The prospects for cooperation and coordination between the ministry and the trade unions during the next phase were also discussed.
Humaidan underlined the Kingdom’s achievements in maintaining the stability of national employment, as well as the success of the National Employment Programme second edition, stressing that this is a positive indicator despite the existence of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Al Shehabi praised the success of the Labour Ministry in implementing the National Employment Programme in its second edition, as well as the success of training plans to qualify citizens and integrate them into the labour market.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two parties.
