Embassy of India celebrates World Hindi Day 2022

The Embassy of India organised a function to celebrate World Hindi Day 2022 yesterday.
The programme began with the screening of messages from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on the occasion of World Hindi Day.
This was followed by a video message by Minister of State for External Affairs, Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi.
In the run-up to this event, all eight Indian schools in Bahrain organised an inter-school competition among the students for Hindi song, poetry and storytelling.
During the event at the Embassy, the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain Piyush Srivastava felicitated and gave away prizes to the winners.
The Embassy congratulates all the children for their enthusiastic participation.
A video message by Isa Almutawaj, a Bahraini national who studied in India, was also played, reflecting the deep-rooted historical, cultural and people-to-people ties between India and Bahrain.
Following all COVID-19 protocols, the event was organised in a hybrid format.
Indian professors at different Bahraini universities, principals, teachers and winning students physically participated, while close to 250 others, including teachers, members of Indian associations and members of the Indian community joined online.
