Financial and banking sector vital in economic growth: Shaikh Salman

Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa stressed the vital importance of the financial and banking sector in supporting the national economy.

He underlined the pivotal role of the sector in the wide-ranging development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Shaikh Salman commended the opening of the new headquarters of the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), in Bahrain Bay, by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The minister highlighted the current development strides witnessed by the financial and banking sector, hailing the support of the Government, chaired by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He praised the role of the financial and banking institutions as well as their contributions to spurring growth, creating rewarding jobs, stressing the importance of continuing support to the sector and providing the appropriate environment to implement strategic initiatives and plans.

Shaikh Salman also commended the role of educational and training institutions, including the BIBF, informing qualified cadres to support the development of promising sectors.
