A special day for Bahrain diplomacy
Bahrain marks today Diplomatic Day, observed every year on January 14 as per a Royal order as a special day in honour of the diplomatic corps.
The day celebrates the deep-rooted Bahraini diplomacy that spans over 50 years since establishing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1971.
Al Saleh
In a statement, Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and expressed pride in the approach of HM the King in openness, peaceful coexistence and constructive dialogue with countries and peoples.
He expressed his appreciation for His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s support for Bahraini diplomacy.
Al Saleh praised the efforts of the Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, members of the diplomatic corps and employees of the Foreign ministry.
Shura Council
The Shura Council asserted that HM the King’s wise vision has strengthened Bahraini diplomacy, which enhanced the Kingdom’s status regionally and globally.
The Council paid tribute to Bahraini diplomats and all the affiliates of the Foreign Affairs Ministry for their dedication to serving the Kingdom.
Speaker Representatives Council Speaker, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, praised moderation characterising Bahrain diplomacy and foreign policy.
She commended the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to diplomats.
Parliament In a statement, the Representatives Council expressed pride in the landmark achievements and steady progress of the wise foreign policy of the Kingdom, strengthening cooperation, coordination, fraternity and friendship with countries.
The Council affirmed, quoting HM the King, that Bahrain will always remain a civilisational beacon of peace, rapprochement and harmony for the good of all.
Foreign Minister
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid AlZayani, extended heartfelt gratitude to HM King Hamad for his unwavering support for the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The minister also recalled the landmark accomplishments of Bahraini diplomacy for more than five decades.
HM King’s Advisor
HM King’s Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, stressed that the national occasion reflects the role of Bahrain diplomacy at all levels.
He asserted that this diplomacy would continue to boost the Kingdom’s achievements and international relations.
Information Minister Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, said, “Bahrain’s foreign policy and diplomacy stem from the genuine Arab values and fundamentals which long mark the Kingdom’s society.”
He said the Royal support allows Bahrain remain as a beacon of tolerance and symbol of peace, coexistence and acceptance of others.
Foreign Affairs marks Diplomatic Day Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, said, during a virtual ceremony, His Majesty chose the day to celebrate Bahrain diplomacy, loyal cadres and diplomatic missions abroad.
He recalled in this regard the blessed march of the Dean of Bahraini Diplomacy, Deputy Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.
The minister congratulated all diplomats and administrators working in diplomatic missions abroad and at the Ministry’s headquarters.
Dr Al Zayani affirmed that the Ministry is keen to achieve the directives of His Majesty in strengthening friendship and cooperation between Bahrain and the countries of the world.
Minister honours diplomats During the event, Dr Zayani honoured Dr Bahia Jawad Al-Jishi, former Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Dr Anwar Yousef Al Abdullah, former Ambassador of Bahrain to China.
The minister also honoured distinguished diplomats and administrators and those who produced the best three initiatives within the “Mubadara” programme, which were the collective initiative (communication team): Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, Head of the Mission of Bahrain to Germany, Ambassador Ali Jassim Al-Aradi, Chief of Coordination and Follow-up, Minister Plenipotentiary Khaled Khalifa Al-Saad from the Internal Control and Quality Department, Counselor Wafa Issa AlJowder from the Cooperation Council Affairs Sector, Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al-Khayat from the Projects and Property Department, Second Secretary Rawya Mohammed Mahmoud Hassan from the Bahrain Mission in Tunisia.
Also honoured were the Third Secretary Maryam Hamad Ali Al-Binkhalil from the Organizations Sector, the Diplomatic Attaché Mariam Mustafa Al-Qassab from the Communication Sector, Maha Abdulrahman Al-Tattan from the Coordination and Follow-up Sector for the (Emergency Guide) initiative.
The minister also honoured Counsellor Hussain Mohammed Ali Alam from Bahrain Mission in London and the third secretary, Haya Ismail Muhammad Ismail from the Mohammed bin Mubarak Academy for Diplomatic Studies for Mission Vacancies Initiative and activating a timeline for request.
