Ties with Yemen, Tunisia, Afghan and US reviewed

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to participating with the Arab Coalition in defending the legitimacy in Yemen. He was speaking in a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen, Dr Riyadh Yaseen, on the sidelines of the 11th edition of the Manama Dialogue. In the meeting, they discussed the efforts exerted for security and peace in Yemen.

Dr Riyadh Yaseen expressed his country’s appreciation of the great efforts exerted by Bahrain and its supportive position in the interest of the Yemeni people as well as its keenness for Yemen’s security, peace and unity.

Shaikh Khalid also met his Tunisian counterpart Dr Taïeb Baccouche, and discussed bilateral relations and the means to bolster them ties in various fields.

Shaikh Khalid expressed his appreciation of the historic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Tunisia and its progress at all levels, affirming the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen relations to further achieve joint benefits.

The Tunisian Foreign Minister expressed his country’s keenness to develop relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain at all levels. The meeting covered the exchange of views on regional issues.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, Salahuddin Rabbani, and discussed with him the developed relations between the two countries and the means to bolster them in various fields.

He affirmed the commitment of the Kingdom to supporting efforts exerted by Afghanistan to combat terrorism and extremism as well as comprehensive development and prosperity for the people of Afghanistan.


The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan expressed his country’s appreciation of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s role to support efforts aimed at bolstering peace, security and development in Afghanistan.

Shaikh Khalid also met the US Deputy Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, and affirmed that ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the US were witnessing further coordination in various fields.

He also noted the importance of continued development of cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.

The meeting also covered efforts to bolster security and peace in the region as well as opportunities to strengthen coordination between the two countries towards various issues of mutual interest.
