The labour sector will intensify efforts to contribute to achieving the aspirations of the government and implementing the Economic Recovery Plan.
This was emphasised by Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan as he chaired yesterday’s virtual Labour Market Regulatory Authority’s board meeting.
He affirmed that the major challenge is to keep up efforts to sustain growth and develop the labour market, following the basic principles of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the Government Action Plan.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the implementation of LMRA’s main projects, the ongoing efforts to facilitate transactions to save consumers’ time, and expanding the use of technology and conducting transactions electronically.
Humaidan, who is also LMRA Board of Directors chairman, said the recovery plan is aimed at developing the economy, creating quality job opportunities for the citizens, and making nationals the best option for employment, along with further development of LMRA’s supervisory and regulatory procedures.
The minister was briefed on the progress of the implementation of projects, such as the Wage Protection System, and the level of employers’ commitment to joining it according to the timetable set for the three phases.
