Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa said that the Charter and the Constitution were inspired by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s reform project that protects rights and defines responsibilities to restore social cohesion.

“The principles include the freedom of faith and tolerance between sects and religions, as reinforced values in the culture and identity of Bahrain,” General Shaikh Rashid noted.

He said that the National Action Charter, whose anniversary will be celebrated soon, defines the rights of all society members, including women and children.

It provides the rights of housing, medical and education to all to promote bonds between members of the society.

The Interior Ministry said that the Bahraini society values its national principles, and there is no place for attempts to undermine civil peace.

General Shaikh Rashid stressed that nothing comes above national unity, adding that the protection of community security and safety is a priority to tackle different situations and challenges.

He noted that national responsibility requires commitment to national duties.

“The strength is in our unity and requires the reinforcement of moderation, tolerance, respect for others, and rejection of violence and hatred,” he concluded.
