Bahrain International Circuit and American University of Bahrain sign partnership deal

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) and American University of Bahrain (AUBH) signed yesterday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate a number of mutually beneficial initiatives, including supporting the development of students at AUBH, as well as staff at BIC.

The agreement was signed in a ceremony attended by BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa and AUBH Founding President Dr Susan E. Saxton, held at the BIC premises in Sakhir. Under the deal, BIC and AUBH will establish a series of working arrangements that would assist in the educational process at the university and also help in the further career development of BIC staff.

These initiatives include creating internship opportunities for AUBH students at BIC; presenting opportunities for BIC staff and their dependants to benefit from the various professional certifications, degree programmes at AUBH; creating extracurricular activities that would be beneficial to the community; facilitating joint marketing activities as well as speaking opportunities for BIC guests at AUBH.

BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with the American University of Bahrain for what we are certain is the beginning of a very fruitful and long-term relationship.

“AUBH is one of the leading tertiary education institutions in Bahrain and they operate with the highest international standards. “BIC remains committed to helping in the holistic development of young people in Bahrain, and our agreement with AUBH is one way to achieving this.

“We are immensely proud to be associated with such a reputable university and we look forward to the mutual benefits we can enjoy from the various initiatives we will arrange.” Dr Saxton commented, “We are honoured to enter into an MOU with BIC, and jointly collaborate to enhance educational and professional opportunities for AUBH Students, in line with our mission to graduate employment-ready students in Bahrain and worldwide.”
