No PCR test for inbound travellers before boarding flights to Bahrain

PCR tests for all inbound travellers to Bahrain before boarding their flights have been scrapped with effect from February 4. And there will be no need to present a PCR certificate for passengers before boarding flights.
This was announced by the Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) yesterday and the decision is based on the recommendations by the National Medical Team to Combat Coronavirus.
“The PCR tests will continue to be carried out for incoming travellers at Bahrain International Airport apart from other precautionary measures including the compulsory quarantine for unvaccinated individuals,” the CAA said in a statement issued yesterday.
The CAA highlighted that all entry procedures can be viewed through the website of the Ministry of Health, on healthalert.gov.bh.
Bahrain yesterday reported 7,853 new cases of infection while active cases stood at 52,018 and the virus has already claimed the lives of 1,409 individuals. As of now, there are 21 critical cases. Another Covid death was reported on Wednesday night.
Following approval by the Government Executive Committee, it has been decided that Bahrain will remain on the Yellow Alert Level until 14 February, 2022.
The decision was made to maintain the progress of national efforts to combat COVID-19, to preserve public health.
