Muharraq municipality removes violations in Galali

Muharraq Municipality has started demolishing illegal constructions in the Galali area following a court order. The violator, the municipality said, added two full floors, closed car parks and performed other construction without a prior license.
The violator also allegedly ignored multiple notices served by the municipality following building laws in force. A Court slapped a fine of BD1000 and ordered him to remove the violations within three months of the ruling at his own expense.
The appeal court also rejected the challenge by the accused. Court files say the person converted the property into a 26 apartment complex and other facilities and rented it out to bachelors in an area where apartments are not allowed.
Notices were served to all tenants to vacate the place before the scheduled demolition. Muharraq municipality called on citizens and residents to adhere to laws and regulations and remove violations to avoid legal actions. The municipality also urged all to report violations on 17984027 or through social media accounts or Tawasul on 80008001.
