Crypto alert by Central Bank of Bahrain Governor

The Central Bank of Bahrain Governor yesterday warned against investing in cryptocurrencies, highlighting the risk factor in the absence of regulatory frameworks.
“Cryptocurrencies are assets and not real currencies and have risk factors associated with them just like other assets,” he spoke while addressing a Parliament session.
He called for the careful handling of encrypted currencies.
“Currency as we understand is issued by official authorities and subjected to supervision in each country.
“All Central Banks across the world are cautioning about the risk factors involved in dealing with cryptocurrencies.”
