A house was severely damaged in a fire in Al Lawzi Area, near Hamad Town yesterday.
It is learnt that the fire was caused by a heater explosion and none were injured.
According to Northern Municipal Council member Zainab Al Darazi, 90 per cent of the house has been damaged in the fire.
“I urge the authorities to immediately support the family to restore the building,” she said.
Teams from the Ministry of Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs carried out an inspection visit to assess the damage.
Officials from the Northern Governorate and Social Development Department also visited the site.
