Mirchi launches first talent hunt for expat kids in Bahrain

Mirchi, India’s no. 1 city-centric music and entertainment company, launched a one-of-a-kind talent hunt for kids aged between 9 to 14 years – ‘Mirchi Junior RJ Hunt’ – in Bahrain.

Mirchi kickstarted this activity on 23 January, aiming to provide a platform for kids to channel their talent and get an opportunity to become Mirchi’s Junior RJ.

This activity was sponsored by Lulu Hypermarket — a leading Retail brand presents all over Bahrain with multiple outlets/ hypermarkets and is supported by Fabyland (as Entertainment partner), Daily Tribune (as Media partner) and Wafi Apps (as Ecommerce partner).

Some of the top-most South Asian schools in Bahrain like Indian School, Asian School, New Millennium School and Bahrain Indian School registered their students for this activity along with many direct registrations via Mirchi’s WhatsApp number (17001042).

‘Lulu Mirchi Junior RJ Hunt’ saw an overwhelming response with hundreds of kids participating.

This contest was open to audiences at Dana mall between 31 January and 3 February.

The participants were shortlisted via three rounds- talent showcasing, spontaneity (Extempore) and creativity (Creating an advertisement).

Daily, one student from a school was declared the winner.

Mirchi declared four students as winners of the contest – Deepanshi Gopal from Indian School, Likhit Vashisth from Asian School, Siya Surender Singh from Bahrain Indian School and Dhyana Jassal from New Millennium School.

The winners of the ‘Lulu Mirchi Junior RJ’ will now get an opportunity to co-host the Mirchi Mornings Show (One show each) with the Mirchi RJ Mandy.

Commenting on this initiative, Ajay Pillai, Station Head of Mirchi Bahrain, said: “Radio Mirchi believes in engaging with the South Asian community through various activities and I am very happy that we had a wonderful opportunity to see such exceptional young talents in Bahrain.

Mirchi Bahrain is planning for more such activities in the coming months.”
