Advance online bookings are mandatory for availing services in-person from the Information & eGovernment Authority for ID card issuance, renewal, or replacement. For bookings, click the “Appointments, Booking and Enquiry” service on the National Portal.

Simultaneously, citizens can avail themselves of the ID card services through the National portal (http://www.bahrain.bh) and self-service ekiosks.

iGA Director of Identity & Population Registry, Shaikh Subah bin Hamad Abdulla Al-Khalifa, urged all to make use of the online services for “saving time and effort” and faster transactions that “don’t require physical visits.”

However, those wishing to make in-person visits can make an appointment. The ID card service centres in Isa Town and Muharraq are open daily from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm except on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Mina Salman branch is open Sunday to Thursday, from 7:30 am to 2 pm.

Visitors, the iGA Director said, are also welcome to evaluate the quality of the services they receive by scanning the QR code on employee counter desks via Tawasul once service is completed On the number of digital ID card services offered this year in January, Shaikh Subah said they completed 19,820 transactions via the National Portal and delivered it through the postal service.

Breaking down further, he said 138 of the requests were for personal numbers, 2,494 for printed alerts, and 131 for issuance of unit or establishment of numbers.

Through self-service kiosks, people carried out 2,882 ID card transactions.

The services offered via the National Portal, include family services, ID card issuance for domestic workers and children under 10 years old, renewal or replacement of ID cards for Bahrainis and non-Bahrainis, issuance of unique personal ID numbers, updating of residential addresses, issuance of unit or establishment numbers, requesting adjustments or cancellations of existing addresses, and printing address certificates.
