The Public Prosecution has completed its investigation into the case of a foreign girl who was trafficked and forced into prostitution.
Two defendants, including a man and a woman involved in the case, will be tried before the High Criminal Court today as per a statement issued by the Public Prosecution.
The woman was rescued after a tip-off was sent to police, revealing that the victim was locked up and forced to have paid sex with adults.
She told prosecutors that she came to Bahrain after she was offered a fake job opportunity to work as a waitress at a restaurant.
“A woman (the first defendant) welcomed me upon my arrival and took my passport.
She was helped by a man (the second suspect) to hold me up in an apartment, where I was forced to become a prostitute.
I was threatened, and they physically attacked me. The man was receiving the money,” the victim said. The woman was kept at Dar Al Aman to protect her.
