Israeli Prime Minister to visit Bahrain today in historic move

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is scheduled to land in Bahrain today in a historic visit making this the first time an Israeli leader has visited the Kingdom.
Mr Bennett will hold meetings with Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and according to a statement from his office, the two sides will discuss “the importance of peace, advancement and prosperity in the region, and especially the advancement of diplomatic and economic issues, with an emphasis on technology and innovation.”
Israel and Bahrain agreed to normalise ties in 2020 as part of the Abraham Accords, a series of regional agreements which also saw Israel establish relations with the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Sudan.
