Iran supports terrorist groups to ‘destabilise region’: Israeli PM

Israel and Bahrain deal with significant security challenges that originate from the same source, which is Iran, said Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to our sister paper Al Ayam while on an official two-day visit to the Kingdom.

“Iran is destabilising the region. Iran supports terrorist organisations that operate in your region and our region to achieve one goal: to destroy moderate countries that care about the welfare of their people and strive to achieve stability and peace. “Iran wants to support bloodthirsty terrorist organisations in their country. We will not allow that. We are fighting against Iran and its associates in the region day and night, and we will help our friends promote peace, security, and stability,” the Israeli Premier said.

Praising the courageous leadership of His Majesty, Bennett said: “This visit is unprecedented for an Israeli Premier. I want to express my deep appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his courageous leadership that led to the establishment of relations between us within the framework of Abraham Accords. “During my visit, we will discuss issues and strengthen our ties in various fields, including economy, health services, tourism, and security. The two peoples will see the fruits of bilateral relations every day.”

He said Israel is a prominent military force in the region.

“Israel possesses unprecedented operational capabilities in the air, sea, and land. We are expanding the scope of military cooperation with our friends in the region to enhance security and stability there.”

On common grounds with the US, he said: “President Biden has been a great friend of Israel for more than 50 years, and he fully understands our security needs.

We believe that signing an agreement with Iran is a strategic mistake because it will enable it to maintain its nuclear capabilities and obtain hundreds of billions of dollars to strengthen its terrorist machine that harms many countries in the region and the world.”
