Together we will build framework of peace: Israeli PM

Israel and Arab nations including Bahrain will together build a framework of peace, said Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett while interacting with a group of young Bahrainis at a special event held at Four Seasons Hotel yesterday.

Present in the event were Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyad, the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, the Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office and Cabinet Secretary-General, Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, the Ambassador of Bahrain to Israel, Khalid Yusuf Al Jalahma and Eitan Na’eh, Israel’s Ambassador to Bahrain, along with several officials.

Prime Minister Bennett hailed the Kingdom’s leadership for the milestone decisions taken to ensure peace in the region and across the world.

“I met His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and we had meaningful discussions. “I thank them for the warm welcome and warm hospitality. And for the courage, this leadership has taken by embarking on this incredible change that is taking place before our eyes in the Middle East.”

“Who would imagine Israeli Prime Minister will be visiting Bahrain and speaking to young people over here? This is the real change we are witnessing.

We are all together going to play a bigger role in shaping the future of our region.

Highlighting the significance of the teachings of Prophet Abraham, Mr Naftali said: “Abraham was not just an average leader; he was the man of God and also the man of the world. He was a family man and people don’t realise he was also a capable businessperson.”

He said the world is full of challenges and it is also has full of opportunities.

“Two years of the pandemic are still lingering, throwing a lot of challenges before us. However, we are blessed with the unique opportunity to build bridges. We are from different cultures and we practice different religions, but we all are on one side - the side which chooses hope over hostilities and possibilities over problems.
