Israel, Bahrain sign multiple deals to boost cooperation

The Ministry of Health yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with its Israeli counterpart on the sidelines of the visit of Naftali Bennett, the Prime Minister of Israel.

The Minister of Health, Faeqa bint Saeed Al-Saleh said the deal enhances the bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest, such as combatting pandemics, crisis management, medical and pharmacological systems, medical education and training, data protection in the health and medical fields, along with the exchange of expertise, and establishing wide-ranging joint health projects.

Research and development

Zayed bin Rashed Al Zayani, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) virtually with Orit Farkash-Hacohen, Israel’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, to enhance bilateral cooperation in research and development.

Al Zayani explained that the MoU aims to establish a common framework for joint industrial and commercial cooperation, especially in research, development and technological innovation.

The minister explained that the MoU covers the Kingdom’s strategic priorities in the industrial field, including carbon capture, energy efficiency, advanced manufacturing and e-commerce.

Boosting media

The National Communications Centre (NCC) CEO, Yousif Mohammed Al-Binkhalil signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the CEO of i24NEWS Frank Melloul.

Al-Binkhalil affirmed that the MOU comes as part of the NCC’s priorities to enhance ties with various media organisations in support of National Communications Strategies.

The MoU will enhance the cooperation between the NCC and i24NEWS in the exchange of news and media content, as well as broadcast technology.

For his part, the CEO of i24NEWS, Frank Melloul expressed pleasure in signing this MoU with the NCC.

Joint medical publication

Representatives from the Kingdom’s health and medical education sectors met with their counterparts from the Khan Sagol Maccabi Research and Innovation Centre (KSMRIC) to discuss establishing joint medical publications.

The meeting explored means of establishing joint publications in the medical and health fields and highlighted the Kingdom’s medical research achievements in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Further training opportunities for cooperation between local universities and KSMRIC in the fields of clinical research, data science and medical technology, were also discussed.

Deal for luxury goods

The CEO of the Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) Noora Abdulrahman Jamsheer, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Malca-Amit to cooperate in the fields of transporting and storing luxury goods. Jamsheer affirmed that the MoU will contribute to the exchange of expertise with Malca-Amit, which boasts advanced systems and leading expertise in the field of transporting and storing luxury goods.

It is worth noting that Malca-Amit offers one of the world’s foremost logistical solutions in the field of transportation and storage of luxury goods.

The company also assists in improving the capabilities and expertise of its various partners in the field.

Designing warehouse @ Express Air Cargo village

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) held discussions with Malca-Amit, Israel’s leading valuable goods shipping and logistics company, on the design and operation of a warehouse at Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) Express Air Cargo Village.

BIA’s 25,000-square-meter Express Air Cargo Village is a sophisticated logistics platform that provides a one-stop shop for express cargo operators, each of which will have its premises within the facility.

This will enable BIA to handle larger volumes of cargo more efficiently, better catering to express cargo customers’ needs and creating new job opportunities.
