The High Shariat Court has granted divorce to a woman who filed a lawsuit to end her 10 years of marriage because of mistreatment and exposure to financial exploitation.
The woman told the court that she had to abandon her husband for ill-treating her, failing to fulfil his financial obligations, exploiting her financially and censoring her. He also tracked her in her workplace.
They had two daughters.
“I filed a report at the police station against him, and this has exaggerated our differences. I started to hate him, and he severely beat me up,” she told judges at the High Shariat Court.
Witnesses who stood before the court also confirmed that the woman was constantly under assault from her husband.
Even after repeated attempts of reconciliation, the woman insisted on a divorce.
Finally, the court ruled in her favour.
