Bahrain Defence Force (BDF)’s General Command announced that it has opened registration in the third intake of the first phase of the reserve force for civilian relatives of workers and retirees in BDF and the National Guard (military and civilians).
Eligible applicants have to be Bahraini nationals, aged 18 to 55, but the upper age limit does not apply to technicians, specialists or other duty requirements.
Applicants are required to be of good conduct, and should not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor that breaches honour or honesty.
They should also be medically fit for military service in the reserve force, and successfully pass the medical examination established in accordance with the system of BDF military medical committees.
Applicants should fill in the form available on the BDF’s website, https://www.bdf.bh
The BDF General Commander said that contributing to the protection of the homeland and maintaining its security, stability and territorial integrity is a sacred national duty and honor for citizens.
The Reserve Force Law promulgated by Decree (5) of 1987, and the regulations and instructions issued pursuant thereto, regulate all rights and duties of the Reserve Force, being a BDF auxiliary force, as well as guarantee the benefits and entitlements that result from that.
During the first phase, the door to volunteering will be opened to male citizens only from the relatives of members of the Bahrain Defence Force and the National Guard (military, civilians and retirees), said the General Command.
As for the second phase, an announcement will be made to open the door to volunteering for the rest of society (males and females), upon completion of the first phase.
