The Health Ministry has recalled from store shelves powdered popular infant milk products EleCare, Similac and Alimentum due to possible salmonella and Cronobacter sakazakii contamination.

In cooperation with the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry, the Health Ministry took the necessary precautionary measures in light of the warning issued by the US Food and Drug Administration about the possible presence of harmful bacteria in the US-made products.

The Health Ministry called on all consumers to refrain from consuming these products and to dispose of them in order to preserve the health and safety of their children. Deaths and sickness linked to the products have been reported in the US and Australia.
