Spring of Culture festival begins today

The 16th Spring of Culture Festival will kick off today at the Bahrain National Theatre with a contemporary dance show “Akhenaten… Dust of Light” by Walid Awni.
The launch also coincides with the Arab Tourism Day adopted in 2013, when Manama was the Capital of Arab tourism.
The date also coincides with the birthday of Arab traveller Ibn Battuta.
The show “Akhenaten ..Dust of Light” embodies the personality of Akhenaten through expressive dance and theatrical scenes that take the audience back in time by more than 3000 years.
The show depicts Pharao’s conflict with the priests of Amun and their rejection of his principles through expressive dancing.
This year, the festival is organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, the Sheikh Ibrahim Center for Culture and Research and Al Dana Theatre in cooperation with Al Riwaq Art Space and Al Bareh for Fine Arts.
