Tourists visiting Bahrain could now enjoy the best view of Bahrain by sitting back and relaxing on a leisurely horse-drawn carriage ride. The ride will “give tourists, visitors and even citizens and residents a unique outdoor experience,” said the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority. BTEA will debut this service today on King Faisal Corniche. Riders will receive a traditional Arab welcome. Tickers will cost BD 1 per person for a twenty minutes journey, with each carriage taking up to 7 passengers at a time. The service is part of an integrated programme of activities on Arab Tourism Day celebrated yearly on February 25th.
It will continue to be a touristic offering daily from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM. “BTEA will soon expand to further locations with this offering as we expect it to become a popular activity,” Dr Nasser Qaedi, the CEO of BTEA, said.
“Horse carriage services represent a qualitative addition for other activities such as the Duck Tours, cruises, and open-top tour buses since the presence of these vehicles in the streets of Bahrain creates a distinctive and enjoyable atmosphere,” he added. Jassim Mohamed Ahmad Al-Banna, the Managing Director of Future Equestrian School, the tour operator, said they appreciate BTEA for introducing this new initiative and working jointly with the private sector. “We are looking forward to collaborating with BTEA on many more upcoming tourism projects and innovative experiences”.
