Indian Embassy holds virtual open house, resolves urgent consular, labour matters

The Embassy of India organised a virtual Open House yesterday, where the ambassador called on community members to continue adhering strictly to COVID-19 preventive measures.
Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava interacted with the Indian community members for redressing their urgent/ non-routine consular and labour issues. Srivastava said the meeting addressed the grievances and issues of the Indian Community.
“Some cases are resolved at the open house, while others are set aside for further processing and action.” The ambassador briefed the community members about bilateral talks held to enhance trade and economic cooperation with Bahrain and other GCC countries.
In this regard, the ambassador recalled the telephonic conversation between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Modi had thanked HRH for allowing land for Swaminarayan Temple in the Kingdom. The meeting also discussed the Indian Budget 2022-23 and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with UAE.
Ambassador said the support of community associations, volunteers, Indian and Bahraini businessmen, ICRF and World NRI Council has led to resolution and positive movement in several cases of workers.
“Venkatesh, who has been Covid positive for over six months, has travelled to India in Air Ambulance. The case of four fishermen has also been resolved.
Similarly, the cases of Shameen, Ginjala Bhavani, Sivalingam, K. Prashanthi, who have approached the Mission during the last open house, have been successfully resolved. The pending case of Hari Krishnan and Kunjathan Ramanandan have made good progress,” the ambassador said.
