Philippine tourism has been promoted through brochure distribution, banners, and playing of videos at the Embassies International Market organised by the Children and Mothers Welfare Society held on 3 March at its headquarters in Isa Town.
The Philippine Embassy booth also sold handicraft items, Filipino delicacies such as ube halaya and banana chips, snacks, and some home-baked goodies.
The Embassy together with the other diplomatic missions accredited at the Kingdom of Bahrain participated in the event.
The opening ceremony was led by Shaikha Aisha bint Rashid Al Khalifa, granddaughter of former Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, President of Children and Mothers Welfare Society together with the spouses of the Heads of Foreign Missions, women Heads of Missions and diplomatic officials in Bahrain participating in the Bazaar.
The Embassies International Market, organised annually by the Society, aims to promote awareness about the culture and products of each participating country as well as to gather donations from the proceeds generated from the bazaar for the benefit of the Children and Mothers Welfare Society and its charitable projects.
The embassy stalls featured tourism information materials, cultural products and displays, food and non-food products, and souvenir items.
