The High Appeals Court upheld the three years imprisonment sentence which was issued against a Bahraini conman.
The defendant is said to have used rented cars and sold them using fake papers after presenting to his victims that they were owned by him.
One of the victims reported to police that he saw an advertisement on the internet showing a car for sale for BD3,700.
He communicated with him, and he said that this car was already sold and he had a similar one. “I checked the car, and it was good.
Therefore, I decided to buy it.
We met on the next day to complete the transaction, but when I checked the car’s ownership card I suspected that it was fake due to its feel,” the victim said. “I entered the Traffic Department website and I discovered that the car had a different number plates to the fixed on it,” he added.
