Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority’s female employee percentage has reached 46% and many of them are in leadership positions, said BTEA Deputy Chief Executive Officer Fatima Al Sairafi. These indicators confirm Bahraini women’s ability and competence to enter various qualitative fields such as tourism, she pointed out.
In a statement on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 of each year, Al Sairafi stressed the keenness of BTEA to reflect the vision of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) on implementing the principle of gender balance and creating a work environment that encourages the recruitment of female employees and the integration of their requirements.
This is in addition to acquiring the necessary training, access to resources, decision-making, and promotion based on competence, efficiency and accomplishing the authority’s ambitious goals within the scope of Bahrain’s Tourism strategy 2022-2026.
Al Sairafi also confirmed the authority’s desire to integrate more Bahraini women into the private sector in the fields of tourism through the use of several tools, including Vatel College for Training in the Hospitality Sector, which attracts Bahraini cadres of both genders and trains and rehabilitates them following the highest international standards and incorporates them into the tourism industry
