Bahraini women’s important roles and numerous achievements hailed

A flood of congratulations for Bahraini women from various sectors across the Kingdom marked the International Women’s Day which was observed by the United Nations yesterday under the theme “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow.”

Accomplishments

Youth and Sport Affairs Minister Eyman bin Tawfiq Al Moayed praised the accomplishments of Bahraini women and their active contributions to the kingdom’s development march. He commended the great support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The minister extended most sincere congratulations to Supreme Council for Women President, Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King, lauding the remarkable role of SCW in supporting Bahraini women and integrating her needs in the development programmes.

Prosperity

Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed that Bahraini women have played an important role in the prosperity process in Bahrain thanks to the interest of HRH Princess Sabeeka. He praised the directives and visions of the royal leadership to empower Bahraini women. HH Shaikh Abdullah said that Bahraini women have demonstrated their high capabilities in many positions that contributed to promoting the Kingdom’s development process in various fields and wished them further success and achievements.

Royal support

Higher Education Council (HEC) Secretary General and HEC Board of Trustees Deputy Chairperson and member of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Dr Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, commended the royal support to Bahraini women at all levels, contributing to highlighting their landmark achievements in all fields. In a statement, Dr Shaikha Rana affirmed that the advancement of Bahraini women across all fields reflects the appreciation of His Majesty for them, and the effective programmes implemented by the government to ensure equal opportunities and pave the way for women to confirm their distinguished capabilities. Dr Shaikha Rana affirmed that Bahraini women have proven their ability to play a leading role and bring about landmark achievements in the higher education field, entitling them to reach leadership positions at various institutions.

Nation-building

Special Envoy for Climate Affairs and Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, said that the landmark achievements attained by Bahraini women embody the visions of HM King Hamad and HRH Prince Salman, as well as their support for enabling women to obtain their rights and contribute to the nation-building process. Dr Bin Daina affirmed Bahraini women’s success in proving their worth and distinguished capabilities across various fields. He underlined the keenness of the SCE, led by HM the King’s Personal Representative, HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to implement the directives and strategies adopted by the SCW to enhance women’s status at work, through ensuring the principle of equal opportunities and gender equality.

Advancement

In a statement, the Representatives Council praised the distinguished projects and the efforts of the government, led by HRH Prince Salman, to support Bahraini women and their advancement. It lauded the distinguished role of HRH Princess Sabeeka to promote active participation of Bahraini women in the kingdom’s development process. The Representatives Council reiterated its continuous support and coordination with SCW to enhance women’s progress in all fields. It affirmed unflinching keenness to develop legislation related to women to attain the desired strategic goals.
