Education Ministry organises Boccia championship for people of determination

The first edition of the school Boccia championship, a precision ball sport, was held yesterday for differently-abled students.

The event, organised by the Ministry of Education, was held in cooperation with Bahrain Paralympic Committee and Bahrain Sports Federation for People with Disabilities.

The tournament was also the first to be held in Bahrain with referees accredited at the international level. Results: Secondary school (boys): Issa Khalid Marjan from Isa Town Secondary School for Boys took the first spot.

Mohammed Ibrahim Mohammed from Sheikh Isa bin Ali Secondary School for Boys took second place, and Salman Hassan Saeed from Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Secondary School for Boys grabbed the third spot.

In the preparatory stage (boys): First place went to Hassan Khaled Ali from Isa Town Primary Preparatory School for Boys, second place to Muhammad Mahdi Rabei from Al-Khalil bin Ahmed Preparatory School for Boys, third place to Ahmad Nader Noah from Ali Preparatory School for Boys.

Preparatory stage (girls): First place went to Zahra Saad Khamis from Yathrib Preparatory School for Girls, second place to Fatima Al-Sayed Ahmed Nehme from Al-Qayrawan Preparatory School for Girls, third place to Fatima Hussein Majeed from Al-Diraz Preparatory School for Girls.
