Bahraini man standing trial for causing disability to teenager

A man in his forties is standing trial for causing 3% permanent disability to a fellow Bahraini, a teenager, following a quarrel involving two kids.
According to court files, the kids met inside a cold store where the incident took place.
One of them is the brother of the victim, who tried to break up the fight and take his brother home. While on their way, the victim and his brother were taken by surprise when the defendant and several others stopped them and attacked them.
They broke the victim’s nose, causing him what was calculated as a 3% disability.
The victim was taken to a police station, where an ambulance transported him to a local hospital, and he had a successful operation.
After reviewing the CCTV cameras installed in the area, the defendant was arrested for his involvement in the incident. His case was adjourned until tomorrow to hear the closing arguments.
