HM King establishes Bahrain Council for Health Studies and Specialisations

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday announced the establishment of the Bahrain Council for Health Studies and Specialisations under the Supreme Council for Health.
The Council will have a member of the Supreme Council of Health as chairman and a vice-chairman chosen by the head of the Supreme Council of Health.
Other members will be Chief Executive Officer of Governmental Hospitals, Chief Executive Officer of Primary Health Care Centre, and representatives of National Health Regulatory Authority, SCH, Ministry of Health, Bahrain Defence Force Hospital, King Hamad University Hospital, Royal College of Surgeons in Bahrain, Arabian Gulf University, University of Bahrain, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Heart Centre and private health sector.
The term of membership is four years, renewable for another similar period.
The Council is responsible for ensuring compliance with national and international accreditation standards regarding health training, preparation, development and qualification of workers in the health sector.
The Council shall also oversee the evaluation of professional certificates across various health disciplines, national health programmes and the establishment of specialised training programmes.
The Prime Minister and the Ministers - each within his jurisdiction - shall implement the provisions of Royal Decree (13) of 2022, which takes effect upon publication in the Official Gazette.
Amends Municipalities Law
His Majesty also ratified and issued Law (8) of 2022, amending some provisions of the Municipalities Law promulgated by Decree-Law (35) of 2001.
The amendments take effect upon its publication in the Official Gazette.
