Day 1 explodes with fun, excitement at Bahrain International Circuit

BIC sold out its F1 Hospitality as well as seating on the Main Grandstand What comes after speed at the venue of Bahrain Grand Prix is entertainment! The first day was filled with fun and excitement as the Bahrain Grand Prix kicked off yesterday.

Colourful characters including musicians, magicians, percussionists, dancing drummers, stilt walkers charmed the audience offering unprecedented entertainment. “To be very frank, I love the entertainment part of Bahrain Grand Prix more than the race,” said Sarah, a Spanish expatriate in the Kingdom.

She said the event has become an annual festival for many like her. “I feel like I am in any of the European cities watching a carnival. I thank the organisers for bringing out such a comprehensive range of entertainment.”

Catherine Thomas, another Bahrain resident, said Bahrain Grand Prix entertainment is something, which no-body could afford to miss. “These entertainments are not just fun, it reflects the success of the entire humanity against the pandemic, which locked up all of us indoors for over two years.

“It is the time to celebrate as we are totally out of restrictions and confinement,” she added. Special areas were earmarked for children’s entertainment at the grand venue. The crowd could not stop their excitement as they boogied to the tunes set by renowned Dutch DJ Afrojack and DJ Don Diablo, who performed last night at Bahrain International Circuit.

Afrojack is a Grammy-winning DJ and producer, who has co-created major hits for leading artists including Beyonce. He was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the world’s top 50 people in electronic dance music.

Celebrations continue today The F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix continues today with plenty more in store for all those attending.

BIC will be opening its gates to the public from 10 am to 10 pm. As part of the off-track activities, fans will have a chance to meet their favourite F1 drivers in person during the Autograph Session, scheduled to be held from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm next to the Main Stage at BIC’s vending area.

Fans are advised to get there well in advance to avoid missing out on the popular activity. Those attending will be able to interact with the drivers, take pictures and have their memorabilia signed.

The Autograph Session is just one of the many attractions available to the whole family at BIC’s vending area, which is located behind the circuit’s Main Grandstand. There are also stage shows and roaming performers, thrilling rides like the Ferris Wheel and Ghost Rider, Esports and other fun F1-related activities, as well as food and beverage outlets and stalls selling official BIC and F1 merchandise.

Only a limited number of tickets to the race weekend remain as BIC has completely sold out its F1 Hospitality as well as seating on the Main Grandstand, Turn One Grandstand, Batelco Grandstand and the University Grandstand.

Tickets to the Victory Grandstand are still available. Fans are urged to get theirs as soon as possible to be a part of this historic weekend’s events. Tickets can be purchased online at bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-1745000, as well as at the sales tent located next to Sakhir Petrol Station enroute to the circuit.

Streets in the Southern Municipality leading to the Bahrain International Circuit glowed in red and white yesterday in celebration of Bahrain hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prix. The Department of Parks and Gardens decorated 262 palms, 402 Washingtonians and 160 Conocarpus trees as well as lighting poles on the street leading to the entrance of the Gulf of Bahrain street.
