British driver Lewis Hamilton is the most popular of all F1 drivers among the motorsport fans at Bahrain International Circuit.
This was evident at the autograph signing session yesterday, where maximum fans were found in their desperate attempts to catch the glimpse of the legendary Mercedes driver.
This highly sought-after activity from the part of fans, men and women, young and old, was held at BIC’s F1 Village vending area right next to the Main Stage.
“I am a die-hard fan of Lewis Hamilton, for he has the right blend of style and substance,” said Formula One enthusiast Vivek Menon, who developed the F1 craze after subscribing to Netflix. “Others are also good drivers, but Lewis is always special,” the Indian national said. “My son’s favourite is Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. We are in separate queues as our autograph ambitions are different.” Vivek’s son, who practices karting at the karting circuit in Bahrain, has already taken part in national level competitions.
British national Ray Moule was standing in the queue to obtain the autograph of Lando Norris. “Lando Norris is an outstanding driver, capable of giving a tough competition to Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. “He is the rising star at Bahrain Grand Prix as he is a young guy. The entire future of F1 belongs to him.
He joined McLaren when the team was not doing well. Now, if you see, he has taken the team to new levels.” Bahraini national Abdulla Jamal said he is a passionate fan of Dutch driver Max Verstappen. “Lewis Hamilton has been dominating Formula One for a while, but from the very beginning of this season, I am confident that Max Verstappen will set new records. “He is all set to win the Bahrain Grand Prix.
It is going to be an easy victory for the Red Bull superstar.” The second day of the Bahrain Grand Prix almost equalled the first day in terms of offering entertainment to the crowd.
Colourful characters including musicians, magicians, percussionists, dancing drummers, stilt walkers continued to charm the crowd on the second day as well.
An overwhelming excitement was in the air while engines roared in the backdrop, offering the right combination of on-track and off-track entertainment to fans who have been gripped by Formula One fever.
