Bahrain is currently on an economic recovery path, said Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, adding that speeding up the growth requires the collective efforts of all its citizens.

The ministry said this to our sister concern AlAyam on the sidelines of his visit to the voter’s tent in the Bahrain Chamber elections. “We thank the Election Organising Committee for their wonderful organisation in ensuring a smooth election,” said the minister.

“Bahrain Chamber had smartly used technology and space to ensure an efficient electoral process,” the minister added. “We have 33 candidates running for 18 positions,” he said. “We thank them for their work, as this is a voluntary work and national service.” “No matter whether they qualify or not, Bahrain now needs all available hands-on the board to boost the economy and bring it to what it was, earlier,” the minister stressed.

The minister later also paid a visit to see the progress of the elections to the board of directors of the Bahrain Chamber, which started early morning yesterday at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Touring the facility, the minister said, this electoral process reflects the desire of the Chamber to support the development process of the Kingdom. The minister also praised the role of the Chamber and its members in framing commercial activity and promoting economic growth.

In a separate statement, the minister stressed the importance of harnessing the efforts of Government agencies and the private sector to support the national economy. Bahrain, he said, is in the process of restructuring the economy and organising priorities to advance the national economy.

He stressed the Government’s success in containing the crisis caused by the pandemic, which affected the countries in the world. Government, the minister said, attaches great importance to the chamber’s active role in supporting the national economy.
