As we celebrate the sagas of Bahraini women empowerment, the unusual odyssey of a highly talented, multi-tasking specialist in the world of motorsports should not go unnoticed. Bahraini Faten Hasan Amin is a woman with a difference, for she performs two crucial roles, one with the Bahrain Motor Federation and the other with Bahrain International Circuit, carving a special place for herself in Bahrain’s motorsport sector.

In an exclusive interaction with The Daily Tribune, Faten said she is really proud to be a true representative of empowered Bahraini women, capable of conquering uncharted terrains. “Passion and conviction guided me to begin this unique journey in the year 2005 when I became a race marshal under the Motorsport Marshals Club,” she said. “Over the years, I grew up to become a senior marshal, from where I was promoted to the role of chief observer. “A chief observer sits in the race control room to receive calls from observers on the track before reporting the situations to clerks on duty.”

Faten has many firsts to her credit. She is the first Bahraini woman to do the tracking recovery, the first Bahraini woman to be on the training committee, having trained marshals from India and Azerbaijan.

Needless to say, she is the first Bahraini woman to be the Trainee Clerk of the Course. In her role as the digital content creator for BIC, she has been intensively contributing to the digital communication wing of the organisation.

“I have been associated with motorsports since 2005, but I joined BIC only in the year 2017,” she explained. “This is a special weekend to me as I perform both roles.” Faten, an Amwaj Islands resident, attributes her success to consistent hard work and dedication. “Never lose hope is my message to those women who aspire to make a career in the motorsport industry. Chase your dream and passion without any compromises and one day you will find that the world is yours.” Looking ahead, Faten hopes to represent Bahrain at international motorsport events in senior decision-making roles.
