Bahrain Food Festival to run until April 1 at Bahrain Financial Harbour

The sixth edition of the Bahrain Food Festival, with over 120 local and international restaurants participating and offering a rich range of food items that cater to all tastes, was inaugurated by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) CEO Dr Nasser Qaedi at the Bahrain Financial Harbour.

The festival will be held until April 1. Bahrain Food Festival returns this year with an unprecedented edition in which visitors will be treated to a festive and entertaining atmosphere that will appeal to all family members and make their visit to the festival an unforgettable experience.

This also demonstrates the success of BTEA in developing the existing annual events and launching new events, in the implementation of the ambitious goals of the Bahrain Tourism Strategy 2022 - 2026. “Live Cooking Station” which features several well-known Bahraini chefs preparing and cooking various sorts of cuisine in front of the public in a unique interactive setting, is another highlight of this year’s food festival. The festival also features a wide range of events and exciting activities. It includes Bahraini artists who will perform a variety of musical and artistic acts.

Visitors also will have access to a recreational area as well as a children’s play area. Raffles for prizes are also held throughout the event in collaboration with hotels and restaurants around Bahrain. BTEA has extended a special invitation to racing fans of Formula One to visit the Bahrain Food Festival and enjoy its atmosphere, amid expectations that the increase in the number of international Formula 1 tourist is anticipated to be close to a 50% increase in comparison to 2019 will positively affect the number of visitors to the festival.

Dr Nasser Qaedi, CEO of BTEA, said that this year’s food festival will provide visitors with the most spectacular shows and experiences that promote Bahrain’s culinary variety and various entertainment shows and events such as live cooking station, musical shows, kids play area and competitions.

“BTEA has gone to great lengths to encourage people to come to the festival, not even once but several times and to enjoy all or most of the restaurants it hosts, as well as to participate in the different events. We also want to make this event a must-see for tourists visiting Bahrain at this time of year,” Dr Qaedi said. Dr Qaedi confirmed that BTEA has worked to promote the festival as widely as possible through its “What’s on in March” promotional campaign, which aims to introduce locally, regionally, and internationally the programme of events that Bahrain will witness during this month.

These include the Formula One, Manama Gold Festival, the Food Festival, Brave International Combat Week of Fighting and the concerts at Al Dana amphitheatre, amongst others. Dr Qaedi expressed his happiness in working with the private sector to organise the festival and added that the Bahrain Food Festival reflects the state of recovery in Bahrain’s tourism, hospitality, and entertainment sectors, and serves as an example of the sector’s resilience and vitality, as well as its ability to return to, and even exceed previous growth rates.
